Yes, it is out! ABC Network has decided to cancel GCB and other shows in order to increase its rating. It has cancelled all the “bubble shows” in a hope that they can induct new shows and improve their viewership and ranking. Bubble Shows are those which have a tendency to go both ways, either the good track or the bad one. It is almost uncertain where they might end up, and the management doesn’t want to take risk and spend money on such shows. This comes as a blow to all the GCB lovers, as they were expecting a second season of the freshman drama. There were other shows as well that were dragging the network behind; hence, they have decided to do away with them as well.
Shows like Pan Am, The river and Missing will also have to face the ire of the network, as it is quite certain that these shows won’t be able to recover from their current situation. The network has given a green signal for other shows, which are faring relatively better than the cancelled shows. The show Private Practice, which has garnered good ratings, will get a sixth season. Similarly, “Body of Proof” has been given a third season; Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt. 23, a freshman comedy and Last Man Standing have received a second season too.
ABC had already renewed some of its big and highly rated series earlier. Grey’s Anatomy, Once Upon a Time, Scandal, Happy Endings, The Bachelor, etc. all has been renewed. ABC wants to create a formidable schedule that no network can beat, and that is why they are doing away with the under-performers.
